Quoting "Jeff Krantz @ optonline.net" <jkrantz AT optonline.net>:

Jeff,

There is an extensive treatment (and summary of major work to that date) in
Peter O'Briens NIGTC commentary (1991) on Philippians.

I would also recommend an article by Marcus Bockmuehl, '"The form of God"
(Phil.
2:6: variations on a theme of Jewish mysticism', JTS 48:1 (1997), 1-23.
(although relatively brief, his 1998 BNTC commentary is very judicious IMHO)

See also David Seeley, 'The Background of the Philippians Hymn (2:6-11), JHC 1
(1994), 49-72 - available online at
http://www.depts.drew.edu/jhc/seelyphl.html

Although a touch older, C.A. Wanamaker, 'Philippians 2:6-11: Son of God or
Adamic Christology?' NTS (1987), 179-193 is very worthwhile.

Otherwise, much of the more recent work on Philippians 2 has come in the
context
of a number of monographs related to Philippians from various perspectives.

Tim Harris
