Peter:
A Schweitzer has a book called The Mysticism of Paul the Apostle, [paper]
Baltimore: Johns Hopkins Press, 1998. He goes against Luther and the
Protestant tradition as he recalls what paul said about believers in
Galatians and Romans regarding the experience of the divine. He believed
that the self did not lose its priority once the Spirit of God entered the
believer.
I bought this book within the past year at a place called Half Price Books.
There is a web site.
hope this helps
