>>Acts contains no account of the serious quarrel at Antioch.
Acts 15:2 seems to be located in Antioch, indicates a sharp division between
those from Jerusalem and those in Antioch, and describes an appointment of
Paul, Barnabas and others to go up to Jerusalem.
Galatians 2:11 could correspond to Acts 15:2.
How many parties were there in this complex of ideas and revelations? I
don't understand why "certain men from James" (2:12) has to be the same as
"the circumcision party" (2:12) or "the rest of the Jews" (2:13). Certain
men from James doesn't include James - I see no evidence that he 'changed
his mind' as some have implied. In fact the 'public' agreement had not
happened yet.
Perhaps the removal of the requirement of circumcision took some time to
appreciate. Perhaps after the private agreement (Gal 2:2), James sent men to
find out more about what was going on, and perhaps they were incompletely
briefed by him - human communications being what it is.

for our vineyards are in flower. (Song 2.15)
