Why would Paul use the metaphor of flesh and spirit such as it is used in
e.g. Romans 8:1-11?
What I am wondering is whether the language comes from others or he invented
the image himself and how his contemporaries - teachers or hearers - might
have understood it.
Thanks
Bob
