- Subject: Reminder: List Protocols on Quotations
- Date: Sun, 07 Apr 2002 12:40:31 -0500
Twice now within the past few days List Members who (apparently) receive C-P
messages
in Digest Form have sent responses to messages within the digest which have
quite
unnecessarily quoted/contained ***the entirety of*** a day's digest.
List protocols specify that if one desires to respond to a post, one should
quote
**only** that portion of the message to which one is responding that is
absolutely
necessary to give one's message it's proper context. Quotation of the
entirety of a
digest is a violation of these protocols.
So I would be grateful if List Members -- especially Digest Only subscribers
-- would
take care to see that this protocols is observed. It is more than a little
aggravating
to have to wade through pages of irrelevant and redundant text to get to an
intended
message.
Yours,
Jeffrey Gibson
