Andrew,

Thanks for mentioning this - I'll wait for my copy. Indeed, it's a tribute to the fine work of the commission. Congratulations, all!

Regards,
Jonathan

Hello everyone. I just wanted to give you a great update. The newest issue of Carolina Alumni Review (which I just received today, and I would guess quite a few others of you will receive) has a beautiful photo of our commissioned StreetScape benches on the back cover. The photo credits Arlene Slavin, although it says nothing of the Public Arts Commission nor Percent for Art (but I'm not surprised, since that is not what they are talking about). They are using this photo to reference an article inside about downtown revitalization and the University's involvement on the Downtown Steering Committee (this is, after all, a UNC publication).

It's just very nice to already see our work being seen as an integral part of the town, and the transparency of what we do is actually kind of nice, too. The Town commissioned those benches on Franklin Street to make the street more attractive, so noting them in that role is just as important as when we point them out as a Percent for Art project.

Andrew
