1) Presentation & Benefit for G20 Extraditees, July 10th

Thursday, July 10th at 7pm

Dane Rossman speaks about his experience being extradited to Canada for actions during the 2010 G20 Summit in Toronto. Dane is an anarchist living on occupied Tohono O'odham land in Tucson, Arizona. He's been involved for several years in anti-colonial, No Borders, and prison/police abolition movements, and will try to situate his experience of incarceration and extradition within that history, with an emphasis on ongoing struggles in Arizona.

Dane hopes to use this opportunity to raise funds for the other G20 extraditees still being held by the Canadian state, so bring cash if you can.

2) Reflections from Revolutionary Egypt, July 11th

Friday, July 11th at 7pm

Poet and nonfiction writer Andy Young, who has been living in Cairo for the past two years, will read from her poems and essays reflecting on revolutionary Egypt and share some of her photographs of the street art that reflects the state of resistance on the streets of Cairo. Copies of her chapbook, The People Is Singular, will be available.

Andy Young's first full-length poetry collection, All Night it is Morning, is forthcoming from Dialogos Press. Based in New Orleans, she has been working at the American University of Cairo since 2012, but will return to New Orleans Center for Creative Arts this fall. Her translations, essays, and poetry have been published in places such as Los Angeles Review of Books, Callaloo, Guernica, and the Norton anthology Language for a New Century as well as in flamenco plays, a Paul Chan project at the New Museum, and on Public Radio International's "The World."

6) Prison Books Workdays Every Sunday, Support Prisoners By Becoming A Sustaining Donor!

Prison Books Workdays Every Sunday from 1 - 4 in Carrboro. Check out prisonbooks.info for more information.

For 7 years the Internationalist Prison Books Collective has been sending
books and resource guides, for free, to thousands of prisoners all over
the South. Whether a prisoner is teaching themselves to read, filing a
grievance, or organizing on the inside, we are a lifeline.

We need your help! Due to an increase in requests, we desperately need
people to help open prisoners' letters and fill packages. It's a simple
and fulfilling way to make a difference and show people they aren't
forgotten.

Please make a monetary donation topay for postage and supplies to help us continue this vital work.
