2)Saturday, March 1st: Carrboro's World Famous Really Really Free Market @
The Carrboro Town Commons From 2 to 4 pm

Everyone is welcome at this free event, where all are encouraged to give,
receive, and create on their own terms. This free and open market will be
a celebration of the cooperation and gift-giving that make life possible
beyond the constraints of capitalist markets. The event is self-organized
by everyone who participates. No authority rules over the RRFM. As at
previous events, we trust that people sharing rather than competing will
be able to find their own ways to cooperate with each other and function
smoothly.

Everyone is invited to arrive between 2:00 and 4:00 pm with goods,
services, skills, performances, stories, crafts, food, games, music,
clothing, furniture, plants, and resources to give and share with others
in the community. There is no buying, selling or exchanging involved—in
this market, everything is strictly free. Better than a yard sale, the
Really Really Free Market has no price tags!

The Internationalist Prison Books Collective brings you this month’s

5) 3 Part Reading Group: The Failure of Nonviolence: From the Arab Spring
to Occupy by Peter Gelderloos @ Internationalist Books @ 7pm

Monday, March 24th
Monday, March 31st
Monday, April 7th

From The Back Cover:

From the Arab Spring to the plaza occupation movement in Spain, the
student movement in the UK and Occupy in the US, many new social movements
have started peacefully, only to adopt a diversity of tactics as they grew
in strength and collective experiences. The last ten years have revealed
more clearly than ever the role of nonviolence. Propped up by the media,
funded by the government, and managed by NGOs, nonviolent campaigns around
the world have helped oppressive regimes change their masks, and have
helped police to limit the growth of rebellious social movements.
Increasingly losing the debates within the movements themselves,
proponents of nonviolence have increasingly turned to the mainstream media
and to government and institutional funding to drown out critical voices.

The Failure of Nonviolence examines most of the major social upheavals
since the end of the Cold War to establish what nonviolence can
accomplish, and what a diverse, unruly, non-pacified movement can
accomplish. Focusing especially on the Arab Spring, Occupy, and the recent
social upheavals in Europe, this book discusses how movements for social
change can win ground and open the spaces necessary to plant the seeds of
a new world.

6)Prison Books Workdays Every Sunday from 1 – 4 pm in Carrboro.

For 7 years the Internationalist Prison Books Collective has been sending
books and resource guides, by request, to thousands of prisoners all over
the South. Whether a prisoner is teaching themselves to read, filing a
grievance, or organizing on the inside, we are a lifeline.

And we need your help! Due to an increase in requests, we desperately need
people to help open prisoners' letters and fill packages. It's a simple
and fulfilling way to make a difference and show people they aren't
forgotten.

Every Sunday @ 1pm email us or go to our website prisonbooks.info for more
information.

If you can't make it for a workday then please make a monetary donation to
help us continue this vital work.
