& ricer from the 1867 Treaty ceded lands or Gaa-waababiganikaag (the White
Earth Reservation in the occupied lands of northwestern Minnesota).

Deepening Our Connections Tuesday July 2nd

This workshop is a participatory workshop about the many ways we are
connected to the earth, each other, life, culture and spirit. It gets into
the subjects of deep ecology, social ecology, ecofeminism, environmental
justice and mysticism, and how these subjects are ways to overcome
oppressive forces that divide us by bringing us together to work for
collective liberation

Struggling toward Solidarity: Critical Lessons in Forging Revolutionary
Alliances Across Race Class and Gender in Radical History Tues July 2

This workshop will begin with three stories drawn from varying struggles
told as vignettes, each focusing on critical points at which meaningful
alliances were either realized or not. afterwards, together in discussion
we will look closely at factors that either made solidarity between groups
divided by race/class/gender possible or prevented it from being achieved.
we will then take the insights gained from this exercise and use to it
look critically at patterns in struggles that we’ve noticed historically
and currently in movement spaces. Facilitated by Kristin

Social Detox - tools for men confronting sexism Tuesday, July 2nd

Social Detox presents a facilitated discussion about male identity and the
responsibility Men have in preventing sexual assault and rape. Far too
often sexual violence is seen as a “women’s issue”. This workshop, while
open to all genders, focuses on the ways that men can challenge sexist
behavior in themselves as well as in their overall social environment.

Intersectionality of Oppression – Wednesday, July 3rd

In order to bring our movement where it needs to be to destroy all of the
systems of oppression which perpetuate the commodification of the Earth
and annihilate our bioregions we must expose and actively challenge unjust
dynamics which provide an environment for capitalism to thrive.
Participants in this workshop are asked to have a basic understanding of
different systems of oppression as this is not an intro level workshop.

In this workshop we will: *deconstruct buzzwords and critique common
threads in “anti-oppression” trainings and workshops, for better or worse,
through open and honest dialogue

*explore how systems of oppression intersect

*discuss systemic racism, which is often invisibilized to those with more
privilege, and deconstruct how it works

*learn new tools that will help us take steps to incorporate an
anti-oppressive framework into our daily lives–beyond just using the
“appropriate language”

*gain experience and tools that help to foster relationships, not rhetoric!

Let’s get vulnerable together and hold ourselves accountable to our
claimed principles to sow the seeds for true solidarity.

Getting Shit Done – self-organizing for the ambitious rebel Thursday July 4

Good planning = Effective Action. Lot’s of radicals & anarchists are
committed to the idea of do it yourself, and take on ambitious projects,
one after the other. Often we struggle with following through with our
vision, leading to burnout and dissatisfaction. This workshop will give
you practical tools you can start using now, to help you plan & take
action. I’ve been studying self-organizing, translating this corporate
culture back to the people. That’s you, so get with it!

Earth First! Journal Discussion - Thursday July 4th come hear updates from
the Journal Collective on everything from subscription numbers to newswire
stats. We will be asking folks what they dig, want to see more/less of,
talk about finances and how the collective is endlessly evolving…and of
course how YOU can help OUR movement publication continue to be an amazing
source of independent media.

Environmental Racism & Solidarity Organizing 101 – Thursday, July 4th

Environmental racism is the intentional and systematic targeting of
indigenous communities and communities of color with respect to
environmental hazards and failure to enforce regulations. The most
marginalized and at risk peoples in capitalist society are often excluded
from participation in movements opposed to systems of oppression that
disproportionately affect them. In addition to discussing why that is, the
facilitator will share their own experiences and practices that have
proven to aid in developing respectful and effective relationships with
communities when race, culture, and language are different. It is strongly
recommended that folks who attend this workshop attend the workshop,
“Intersectionality of Oppression” which will be held on Wednesday as this
workshop will build off some of the ideas discussed in that one.

In this workshop we will:

*gain an understanding of what environmental racism is with a short
introduction to the history of it in the so-called “united states”

*discuss how environmental racism has been ignored by the mainstream
liberal class, big green NGO’s, and even radical environmental groups

*open dialogue about racism within white radical environmental and social
change movements

*the facilitator will share experiences organizing in solidarity with a
community in the east end of Houston, TX, the largest industrial chemical
complex on Earth and the terminus point of the Keystone XL tar sands
pipeline.

“Fungi For The People” present DIY Mushroom Making Friday, July 5 –
skill sharing, specifically sharing DIY mushroom cultivation from people
whose work focuses on food soverignty, environmental justice through food
security, soil remediation, and wild medicine making.

Earth First! Media: How to Plug In! Friday July 5th – this workshop will
focus specifically on how to become a contributor to the EF! Newswire
(with intro and intermediate break-away groups), how to get involved in
producing EF! Newsletters, talk about employment opportunities and feature
a second set of break-away groups to further discuss evolving the
newswire, producing newsletters and other think tanks to strategize how to
increase distribution and EF! Media projects (i.e a new primer/poster
project, new merch ideas, circulating our new EF! punk compilation, etc.).

Medic Trainings Day 1-4: The medic trainings will are scheduled
separately from other content at the gathering and could last varying
amounts of hours per day. You should plan on attending these preferably
only if you plan on completing the complete training which will last 3-4
days. It may not be possible to attend other scheduled workshops during
these days.

It should include:
*8 hour affinity group training (basic first aid & preventative care,
when to call 911 essentially)
*Herbal first aid (most or all day)
*Disaster preparedness & response (Each a day-long workshop.)

Strategies To Create A Powerful United Movement: Wednesday July 3

How to use propaganda and messages to turn a protest into a revolution.
One of the greatest internal barriers to change in the current
socio-political climate is sectarianism and exclusivist idealism. While it
is never ideal to compromise our integrity to increase our strength it is
truly vital to create platforms that will grow our ranks and alienate
fewer potential assets to our movement. Learning to create and utilize
effective propaganda, messaging, and unification strategies is not only
beneficial but absolutely necessary to the success of our movement if
humans and all other life-forms are to prevail and continue existing on
planet Earth. We all know that the time for unity is now. There is no
other solution than mass action and universal awakening of consciousness
and there is no room for compromise at this point in the struggle. No
matter what our separate courses of action may be, we must be united on
all fronts from the prisons to the workplaces to the schools to the field
and the gutters and the only way to achieve this is through learning how
to use effective propaganda and messaging techniques. It has worked for
“Uncle Sam”, so find out how it will work for us! In this workshop we
will: *Learn what propaganda and messaging are and how and why they both
work when utilized properly. *Discuss the history of propaganda and
messaging; where it has succeeded and failed, from slogans to naming
campaigns.*Discuss skills to protect ourselves from harmful propaganda and
counteract its message. *Open discussion on how to effectively use
propaganda and messaging to recruit larger numbers within our own
movements and get valuable perspective from others! *Whatever the heck
else you feel like talking about!
