Don't forget, everyone, tonight is movie night at the
Internationalist. We will be showing "Piece by Piece," a documentary
about the history of graffiti in San Francisco.
Also, this weekend is the Really Really Free Market, starting at 2 at
the Carrboro Town Commons. Internationalist Books will have their free
book table there, so come visit us.
Following the 'Free Market at 5pm, people are encouraged to attend a
protest/demonstration outside of Greenbridge on the corner of Merritt
Mill and Rosemary. Since opening in 2010, the "green condo"
development Greenbridge has been pushing out neighborhood residents
and assisting in the "yuppification" of the Chapel Hill we once knew.
Mayor Kleinschmidt says it's illogical to protest a development that
has already been built, but it is far more unreasonable to stop
speaking out the moment those in power claim to have won. Join us this
SATURDAY, JULY 2 at 5:00 p.m. for a peaceful demonstration to show
Greenbridge and all development profiteers that gentrifiers are not
welcome in our town.
Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!
