Hi Friends
Early-ish show tomorrow night at Pinhook. Memory Map are friends from
Bloomington IN; super-smart skewed pop music with three guitars, no bass,
and interweaving riffs for days. I am very excited about this band.
Features Mike Bridavsky of the extraordinary Russian
Recording<http://www.russianrecording.com/>,
which reminded me very much of the Track and Field of the Midwest, except
that it was possibly haunted.
J. Kutchma will be further testing the structural integrity of the Pinhook's
stage and belting out his increasingly affecting songs that remind me of one
of the reasons we get along; we've both spent a fair amount of time in the
coal/steel country that runs from Ohio to the coast, a part of the country
that spent its best years powering and building the cities that we all visit
and receiving mostly scorn and poverty in return, and that now remains
stunningly beautiful though largely poisoned, and a hard place to make it.
He's a smart songwriter and a remarkable performer and I'm going to buy him
a drink because he's great.
You should come! It will be fun!
thanks
=Evan
