COMING UP THIS WEEK:

TRANS DISCUSSION GROUP Wed May 11 @ 8pm
A bi-monthlysupport/discussion group for people who identify as trans,
genderqueer, or gender-questioning. Our meetings will provide a safe space
for folks to share and process experiences, be of support to one another, and
organize around issues that affect the trans community.

Open to anyone who needs/wants trans support.MOVIE NIGHT: "Defamation" Thu
May 12 @ 7pm
What is antisemitism today, two generations after the Holocaust? In his
continuing exploration of modern Israeli life, director Yoav Shamir
(Checkpoint, 5 Days, Flipping Out) travels the world in search of the most
modern manifestations of the oldest hatred, and comes up with some startling
answers.

AUTHOR READING: "Something to Say: Thoughts on Art and Politics in America"
Tue May 17 @ 7pm
Something to Say is a book by Richard Klin containing short profiles
ofartists in America today and discusses the relationship of their art to
politics and current events. (Includes profiles of Howard Zinn, Pete Seeger,
Yoko Ono, and many others)

MAY POLITICAL PRISONER LETTER WRITING NIGHT Wed May 18 @ 7pm
Join us as we write birthday letters and cards to political prisonerswhose
birthdays fall during the month of May! It's an easy way to make someone's
day!

EARTH FIRST! MOVIE NIGHT: "Know Your Mushrooms!" Thu May 19 @ 7pm
KNOW YOUR MUSHROOMS follows uber myco visionaries Gary Lincoff and LarryEvans
(two of the more expert and unforgettably mercurial characters in the
community) as they lead us on a hunt for the wild mushroom and the deeper
cultural experiences attached to the mysterious fungi.

PUNK SHOW! Florida's CROW'S FOOT! Fri May 20 @ 9pm
Coming all the way from Florida, the female-fronted crust punk band Crow's
Foot will be playing a show at I-Books! Their local opener will be announced
soon!

Ireland 1919: Driven by a deep sense of duty and a love for his country,

INTEREST MEETING: Girls Rock! Sat May 28 @ 6pm
This is the interest meeting for female-identified individuals who would like
to help out with the Girls Rock Rock Camp this summer! Check out

they work on.

AUTHOR READING: "Islamophobia: The Ideological Campaign Against Muslims," Mon
May 30 @ 7pm
Rogue academics, opportunist pundits, mosque controversies, American beauty
queens, racial profiling, Bush's militarism and Obama's smart power are just
a handful of topics critically analyzed and contextualized.
