=95 8P Lacy Green (country/alt/folk)
I'm currently a full-time student and aspiring singer/songwriter at
UNC Chapel Hill, trying to become a starving artist without actually
starving. I've been playing, singing, songwriting and recording since
I was 13. Keep a watch on this page and you can catch me playing and
singing all over the NC Triad.
Just finished up recording my newest demo at Sony Tree Studios in
Nashville this past July with producer Ronnie Bowman. Currently
working to shop and spread the new music!

=95 10P Uncle Mountain (rock/world/americana)
Three distinct songwriters with their own styles, Ryan Furstenberg,
Ryan Lassiter, and Dan Shearin steer their tunes in different
directions until they've reached a destination often that they had
never expected. The result is one that they are proud of both in
headphones and on stage, blending the organic soul of rock and folk
with lively percussion, rich harmonies and colorful textures from all
of their favorite music from around the globe.
More About Uncle Mountain
Spawning from friendships dating as far back as to the days of middle-
school, Uncle Mountain's music can't help but have the personal touch,
honest approach and hard-nosed accountability that comes standard with
lifelong friends. Steadily tinkering away in various basements and
crawl spaces since they first discovered a four-track tape deck, Ryan
Furstenberg, Ryan Lassiter, and Dan Shearin have together discovered
the beauty of home recording, experimental arrangements, and how to
sing, write, and live with one another.
Each song in Uncle Mountain's set is a marriage of vision and
spontaneous collaboration. Three distinct songwriters with their own
styles steer tunes in different directions until they've reach a
destination, often one that they had never expected. The result is one
that they are proud of both in headphones and on stage, blending the
organic soul of rock and folk with the lively percussion, rich
harmonies and colorful textures from all of their favorite music from
around the globe.

=95 8P Near Blind James and Harmonica Bob
Near-Blind James (James Shoe) and Harmonica Bob (Robert Waldrop) have
been playing blues together for over 30 years. Originally from
Greenville, NC, they play a variety of blues styles but focus on
Piedmont and Ragtime styles, much of which originated in this area.
Piedmont
blues were strongest in the 1930=92s and 1940=92s, prior to the amplified
sound commonly played now. Many of the artists they have studied,
lived and
played in and around Durham. These include Blind Boy Fuller, Sonnie
Terry & Brownie McGhee and The Reverend Gary Davis. They also throw
in a dose of Hokum, Rockabily, Atlanta Blues, Gospel (not quite what
you might be used to), Delta Blues and whatever else makes them happy.
James has been playing metal-bodied dobro and guitar in the
fingerpicked style used in Piedmont blues since he was 12 and helped
Bob to get hooked on Blues music in the late 70=92s. Bob plays harmonica
and both sing, often on-key and in occasionally in harmony. NBJ and
HCA Bob have performed at most every sort of club, venue, street fair
or gathering that calls for music in various acoustic and electric
formats including: 5 Guys Named Moe, The Cavemen, The Phantoms, The
Jive Bombers, Cool Papa Bel and The Soul Duprees, James Get On The
Good Foot Shoe and His Progressivaires, and have shared the stage with
The Right Reverend Billy Wirtz, Bo Diddely, Big Boy Henry and John D
Holeman to mention a few. =93The only jobs we haven=92t played are a Bar
or Bat Mitzvah and we=92re looking for that one now if anyone=92s
interested =93. They play what they mean and mean what they play. Sure
to please.

=95 10P Jessica Long (alt/indie)
Jessica Long's beautiful and entrancing voice, along with her unique
style, create a refreshing new alternative sound that finds its roots
in vintage rock and acoustic folk music. She is currently working on
her debut album with Nashville producer, Billy Smiley. The CD will
feature a pallet of Jessica's original compositions that showcase her
exceptional song-crafting skills. The album includes sounds that range
from folk rock to acoustic ballads. Look for the CD release in
February 2011.
A Texan by birth, Jessica grew up in North Carolina. Coming from a
family of music lovers, Jessica remembers listening to her parent's
albums and studying the charismatic features of each artist. Even as a
young girl, the song-writing of Lennon and McCartney, the poetic
balladry of Simon and Garfunkel and the vocal harmonies of the Beach
Boys were some of the wonders that left a lasting impression on her.
Jessica began composing her own songs at the age of 10, and her
enthusiasm for the performing arts also led her to participation in
the theatre. While studying music, theatre and film in college,
Jessica's passion for song-writing was rekindled. After theatre
rehearsals, she would often lock herself in one of the music rooms
with guitar and piano while she worked for many hours to create her
own music.
Drawing on her own experiences as well as her keen observation of
others, Jessica's lyrical style opens a poetic window on the realities
of human nature that will resonate with those who experience her
music. Jessica's distinctive sound mingled with the foundational
influences of her formative years has enabled her to produce music
that will inspire all listeners.

=95 10:45P Do It To Julia (rock/folk/indie)
"Julia," a tribute to the group's moniker, opens with a wash of
cymbals leading into a sparkling duet between O'Keefe and Anderson
("The sky is falling on me"/"Wrap your arms around me"). The layered
vocals lead to layered instrumentation =97 the cornerstone of DITJ's
sound. That sonic building creates a modern base for the band's
lovely, thoughtful lyrics that are every bit as good when listened to
closely as they are when digest as another layer of the soundscape. =97
