Thursday, December 2

=95 8P Joey Panzarella (acoustic/folk rock)
Joey Panzarella is a musician who is motivated and driven by lyrics.
Bob Dylan and
Tom Petty are two of his main influences. Joey=92s music incorporates
many styles
including Folk, Rock-n-Roll, Blue Grass and Country. His songs
sometimes tell stories
of very defined characters, and sometimes simply try to explain
emotions with words.
Joey plays acoustic guitar and harmonica. Travis Strickland will join
Joey on stage,
adding Mandolin, Dobro, and guitar.

=95 10P The Fustics (americana/rock)
With members originally hailing from all over the United States, this
North Carolina-based band draws from diverse backgrounds and
experiences to create a sound that is truly American. Singer /
songwriter Brad Heller brings his southwestern roots to the forefront
with politically and socially-charged songs about life, love,
injustice, and the state-of-things. Calloway Ritch's gritty and bluesy
guitar work adds a distinct texture and sophisticated humbleness. Add
the dynamic rhythm section of Paul Castagno and Ron Pifer to the mix,
and you have a sound that is as indefinable as it is intriguing. With
the release of their new record, "Beyond This Life", the band has
reached new heights sonically with an array of musical styles
interwoven throughout the album. Voted Wilmington's "Best Original
Rock Band" The Fustics continue to expand their audience with
incessant regional touring.

Friday, December 3

=95 8P Climb Jacob's Ladder (rock/soul/reggae)
Climb Jacob=92s Ladder presents an organic blend of lyrically charged
songwriting, with an unusual and eclectic approach to vocal and
harmonic styling. The music is steeped in the vibrations of Bob Marley
& The Wailers, Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Dave Matthews Band, Al Green,
Stevie Wonder, Little Walter, George Clinton & P-Funk and Howard Levy.
It's delivered with a unique instrumental resonance that features
rhythmic and chordally rich acoustic guitar combined with wildly
original modernist harmonica, groovy and riveting percussion featuring
the caj=F3n, masterful electric bass, and compelling keyboard. CJL
delivers an uplifting and truly innovative musical happening.

Paul Messinger (harmonica, flute, vocals, actual stories and real
events)
Gary Mitchell (acoustic guitar, vocals, super-hero-like awesomeness)
Richard Klecka (caj=F3n, percussion, vocals, oddities from the cage)
Buddy Hankerson (electric bass, vocals, oh-so-incredible-funkyness)
Jason Merritt (keyboards, guitars, vocals, deitific tweakness from the
realms of excitation)

=95 10P Archbishops of Blount Street (ska/reggae/rock_
Way back east there was this band... band I wanna tell ya about. Band
by the name of Archbishops of Blount Street - that's a name no one
would self-apply where I come from. But then there was a lot about the
'Bishops that didn't make a whole lot of sense. And a lot about where
they lived, likewise. But then again, maybe that's why I found the
place so darned interestin'. They call Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC
the "Triangle." I didn't find it to be that, exactly. But I'll allow
there are some nice folks there. 'Course I can't say I've seen London,
and I ain't never been to France. And I ain't never seen no queen in
her damned undies, so the feller says. But I'll tell you what - after
seeing Archbishops of Blount Street, and this here story I'm about to
unfold, well, I guess I seen somethin' every bit as stupefyin' as
you'd see in any of them other places. And in English, too. So I can
die with a smile on my face, without feelin' like the good Lord gypped
me.

=95 11:30P Blue Marble Beat (rock/soul/reggae)
Derek "dB" Brinson (vox, guitar, keys, programming, video) is an
affable and engaging musician, part frontman, part court jester and
all bad-ass. He's been indicted but never convicted. dB's your Simon
and Simon says dance!

Shimer Gradus (drums, percussion) is Blue Marble Beat's drummer.
Shimer's heavy and accurate beats make it impossible for all but the
dead to sit still at a Blue Marble Beat show. Rock, funk, hip-hop and
reggae, he does it all.

=C9amonn Shanahan (guitar, vox) traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to
play with Blue Marble Beat. Well, he traveled across the Atlantic
Ocean and then played with Blue Marble Beat. We're not going to split
hairs. Why should you?

Thomas "Ski" Szypulski (bass, keys, programming) reached No. 4 on the
French Pop charts in 1998 and garnered airplay on six of the seven
continents without spilling a drop of beer. Ski's likely recalling his
most recent visit to Jamaica. Yeah, mon.

dB and Ski first discussed a musical collaboration in 1998 while
involved in Power Pop trios The Estranged and Leaning Owen. Shimer and
Ski played in Leaning Owen. In 2000, Ski and dB played in the reggae
party band Dread34. Throughout the lifetime of Dread34 and into the
early days of Blue Marble Beat, dB played with his Acoustic Soul
collective cleverly masquerading as a band, the-nerve. =C9amonn has
played in bands on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Through the years
we've endured identity crises, economic and legal crises, wars,
plague, famine and pestilence to become locally renowned performers,
scenesters, in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Triangle. All of our
influences and experiences meld into Blue Marble Beat's unique vibe.

We sweat. You sweat. That's the deal.

Saturday, December 4

=95 8P Screen Door Porch (americana/folk/indie)
The duo of Screen Door Porch=97Seadar Rose and Aaron Davis=97deliver
groove-injected Alt-Folk and soulful Americana, garnished with multi-
instrumentation. This roots music combined with ambient textures,
dirty slide guitar, and country-sweet harmonies outline a sound that
is not quite acoustic.

=95 10P Radar's Clown of Seduction (blues/soul/alt)
Free-floating ensemble of local talent crystallizing the original
songs of ex-pat Brit P.T.Pawsey and featuring the songwriting talents
of Penne Sandbeck and Jesse Jordan. Favorite stomping grounds include

friends. A group of young men who share a deep connection for Orange
and the surrounding counties along with an overwhelming love for
music. The Eno Mountain Boys strive to spread the word of the land
with simple words, and hand-me-down music. Check the shows section and

(October thru March) and enjoy some great entertainment that's
designed for kids but that's guaranteed to be fun for all ages. The
kitchen will be open and serving up tasty fare.. so bring your
appetite.

Big Bang Boom (band)
Big Bang Boom is a power pop trio that writes and performs parent-
friendly children=92s music. The live show is high-energy, and gets the
crowd involved. From getting the kids on stage for the =93Spongebob
Chorus=94 to the parents vs. kids hokey pokey challenge =96 there is no
sitting down!
What happens when professional musicians become parents? They play
and write children's music. This is the path taken by Big Bang Boom, a
children's music group from Greensboro. After 20 years touring clubs
and playing parties, Chuck Folds (younger brother of piano rocker Ben
Folds) and Steve Williard decided to expand their horizons and play
for kids. Together with drummer Eddie Walker they have become the
parent friendly kid's rock band alternative.
Big Bang Boom is designed to give parents something else to listen
to besides Disney music and the Wiggles. There is some good quality
children's music being recorded these days. You can catch it on any
kid-friendly TV station, and now you can hear it live too.
Big Bang Boom plays some children's favorites as well as their own
original songs for kids.
