This particular event is a show of local musicians covering one or two Queen songs apiece. Featuring performances by Birds & Arrows, Reese McHenry, Rich McLaughlin, Mimi McLaughlin, Stevie Murtaugh, The Alcazar Hotel, Norm Underwood, New Town Drunks, Stu Cole, Griffanzo, the Bopeeps, Jane Francis, Jess Donnell, Radar’s Clowns of Sedation, Hwyl, John Pardue, Jim Smith, Mara Thomas, Nathan Logan, Burke Hilburn, Simeon, Richard Klecka, Loose Screws and more.

Friday, September 3
A Rooster for the Masses (http://www.myspace.com/aroosterforthemasses)
The Bastages (http://www.reverbnation.com/thebastages)
The Cave, Chapel Hill

This is the debut of the Bastages, a punkrock band put together by Ugly Americans guitarist/old fucker Danny Hooley.

Friday, September 3
Voxhaul Broadcast (http://www.myspace.com/voxhaulbroadcast)
Slim's Downtown, Raleigh

Saturday, September 4
Stan Ridgway (http://www.stanridgway.com)
Kings, Raleigh

Originally the most excellent local psych/surf/rockband Bustello were booked to open, but apparently this wasn't cleared with Mr. Ridgway & they were summarily dropped from the bill. I suppose the fear of being blown off the stage by an unknown local opener is probably pretty hard to shake.

Saturday, September 4
Sequoya (http://www.myspace.com/sequoya)
Actual Persons (Living or Dead) (http://www.myspace.com/actualpersonslivingordead)
Pistil (http://myspace.com/pistilband)
The Pinhook, Durham

Saturday, September 4
Man Will Destroy Himself
The Infamous Sugar (http://www.myspace.com/theinfamoussugar)
RBT
Pour House, Raleigh

This is listed as a Lonerider Beers/Carolina Rollergirls event. Your preconceptions about the intensity of a Rollergirls party may or may not be accurate, but that's a pretty intense lineup either way.

Saturday, September 4
Birds & Arrows (http://www.myspace.com/birdsandarrows)
Saint Solitude (http://saintsolitude.com/)
Free Electric State (http://www.myspace.com/freeelectricstate)
Local 506, Chapel Hill

Saturday, September 4
Savagist (http://www.myspace.com/savagist)
Slim's Downtown, Raleigh

Sunday, September 5
The Light Pines (http://www.myspace.com/lightpines)
WXDU 88.7 FM, Durham

The Light Pines graciously loaned Stu McLamb a big chunk of their personnel to act as the first live version of the Love Language, and suddenly lost a year as TLL took off like a shot. So when Stu went into hibernation before beginning work on Libraries, the Light Pines took the opportunity to take back their members & reconstitute their band.

If you have the excellent Drug Horse One EP, then you've heard 'em - a potent mix of swirly psych tones & pop hooks. 4:00 p.m. at 88.7 FM or wxdu.org.

Sunday, September 5
Dexter Romweber (http://www.dexterromweber.com)
The Cave, Chapel Hill

Sunday, September 5
Voxhaul Broadcast (http://www.myspace.com/voxhaulbroadcast)
Local 506, Chapel Hill

Sunday, September 5
The Loners (http://www.demonbeachrecords.com/loners.html)
Kings, Raleigh

It's a Kings-is-Back party! More bands TBA.

Sunday, September 5
Pneurotics (http://www.myspace.com/pneurotics)
Jason Kutchma
Slim's Downtown, Raleigh

This is a free post-wedding party, and while I may have my wires crossed, I think the wedding in question might be that of Pneurotics (and Krackow Now) drummer Chris Burzminski.

Tuesday, September 7
Skylar Gudasz and the Ugly Girls (http://www.myspace.com/skylargudasz)
Arlo and the Otter (http://www.myspace.com/arloandtheotter)
