PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY!
**Internationalist Books in Chapel Hill seeks vibrant, dedicated
idealists for three part-time coordinator positions!**
Internationalist Books is a volunteer-run collective, a not-for-profit
bookstore, a progressive community center, and community owned
cooperative. We provide new and used books and magazines on diverse
subjects from politics and current events to fiction, specializing in
hard to find, alternative, underground, small press, independent, and
nontraditional literature. We also sell sidelines such as
self-published 'zines, postcards, bumperstickers, spoken word CDs and
politically oriented T-Shirts. Read more at
http://www.internationalistbooks.org.
We are looking to hire three (3) part-part-time coordinators to head
up different areas of the store. Coordinators will work three
three-hour shifts per week, one volunteer and two paid, for a total of
nine hours per week, and will receive $8/hour for paid shifts. Please
note that this is NOT a high-paying job; the compensation is more an
expression of appreciation for taking on responsibilities of an
especially dedicated volunteer, NOT a job you can survive on. All
coordinators will work together closely to support store operations as
well as carrying out duties in their individual field of focus.
Current Internationalist volunteers will be given preference, but all
applications will be reviewed. If you?re still interested, read on!

- willing to commit to a minimum of 9 months in the position (but the
longer you can
commit, the more competitive of an applicant you'll be!)
-accessible by phone on short notice and living in the area with
reliable transportation
- at least 18 years old and legally able to work in the US
-experience with volunteer coordination, cooperative workplaces,
nonprofits, or bookstores is a major plus!
