WXYC is pleased to announce a call for entries for its Locally
Produced Digital Music Showcase in partnership with the CHAT Festival
for Digital Arts and Humanities at UNC-Chapel Hill. The goal of this
project is to feature technologically innovative and artistically
creative music produced in and around the Triangle.
We're looking for a diverse range of sounds, including: soundart,
electro-acoustic compositions, digital noise/glitch, experimental
sound, remixes, mashups, electronic beat-based music, etc. If digital
technology played a key role in the creation of your piece, we want to
hear it! This includes projects created using MIDI, digital audio
processing, sequencing software, digital synthesizers, analog/digital
integration, and the like.
Finalists selected will be included in the showcase, to be aired on
WXYC on February 17th, 2010 at 9pm EST. The program will also be made
available online along with the list of finalists.
Entries will be judged by a panel of 3-5 staff members. Works will be
judged anonymously, the identity of the artists will be kept separate
from their submissions during the judging process. Anyone living in
the greater Triangle area is welcome to make a submission, including
(but not limited to): University Students, Staff, and Faculty, local
artists, local musicians, local residents and community members.
