=95 8P Anna Beck (acoustic/folk)
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Anna moved to North Carolina to
attend Duke as an undergraduate. Inspired by the music scene in and
around Durham, she began playing guitar and writing songs in 2008.
With influences ranging from Paul Simon, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan to
more contemporary artists Regina Spektor, Jaymay, Iron & Wine, Sufjan
Stevens and Laura Marling, she is in the process of developing her own
sound and musical style. With a voice that is at once unique, gentle
and passionate, Anna sings about coming of age and young love, leading
many to compare her sound to "something that would be in a movie like
Juno." She is in the process of writing and recording her first album
which she hopes to release by the end of 2010.

=95 10P Luego (rock/indie)
Luego begins with Patrick Phelan. Born and raised in Texas, Patrick,
the youngest of three, began playing piano at an early age. He became
fascinated with 70s icons such as Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger. Upon
graduating high school, Phelan relocated to Durham, NC to study
Philosophy and Spanish at Duke University.
It was here that he began Luego as a solo act. Slowly he began
adding musicians for short and longish periods of time. Upon
graduating in 2007, he recorded an EP with what members he could come
up with and toured that EP for the next year and a half with a
rotating cast of musicians until touring wore them down and left
Patrick without a band.
In September 2008, Patrick sought out the help of producer/bassist
Jeff Crawford to make a solo record under the Luego name. Within weeks
he had assembled the current band, consisting of Peter Holsapple (the
dBs, R.E.M.), Nick Jaeger (Roman Candle, Max Indian), Jeff Crawford
and Rob DiMauro. what brought them together was a mutual love for the
Band.
After a year of playing together, Luego will release its full
length debut, Taped-together Stories. Though it is just the beginning
for los hombres de Luego, their momentum is gaining quickly.
Taped-together Stories comes out in the US on October 17th. Phelan
will be touring solo in Belgium and Holland in November to promote its
European release and will return to Europe in March with Luego, the
band. A US tour is also in the works.

=95 11P The Tomahawks (indie/rock/roots)

Friday February 5
=95 8P RJ Adams (singer/songwriter - funk/r&b/pop/soul)
Music began for RJ at the early age of 7 in the small southern town in

Green, james Brown, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding to name a few. RJ Adams
is know for his high energy live performances that keep you moving non

Rj=92s music is a breath of fresh air in today=92s world.. His music is

anyone.. It=92s okay to sing about love and everyday life and that is
the message in my music and why the album is called Love, Life,
Music ..=94
RJ=92s first album =93Love, Life, Music gained popularity when RJ

and features some of his best songwriting. Acoustic Soul is full of
soulful, Bluesy melodic songs with no band just a single guitar and
vocal recorded live in the studio with a raw sound displaying RJ=92s
unique vocal sound.
RJ is often asked to describe his music. He simply says with
confidence, "It's feel good music =93music for everyone..
One of the largest breaks for RJ was when he performed =93live=94 March
2007 in Las Vegas on Pay Pre-view . The Pay Pre-View event aired in 15
countries where 120 million viewers tuned in world wide.

=95 10P Soulless Dogs (funk/blues/jazz)
"Soulless Dogs Blues Band left my jaw on the table with their major
chops and fireball singer."
-Brian Howe, Independent Weekly, Durham, NC

Saturday February 6
=95 8P Davis Coen (blues/roots music)
Blues circuit guitarist/singer Davis Coen's most recent
accomplishments have included original music on the DVD release of
Martin Scorsese's PBS special 'The Blues'; and a couple of
performances on the DVD documentary about Hillcountry Blues and the
music of the late-great Jesse Mae Hemphill, entitled 'Dare You To Do
It Again'. He also often receives up to 9 plays daily on Sirius-XM
Satellite Radio; achieving the No. 1 position on the channel 74
'Bluesville' play chart for his last three CD releases. In addition
Coen's music gets sporatic airplay on Musak & DMX satellite radio as
well as numerous other blues programs in the U.S. and internationally.

Coen has been touring the U.S. since his teens, often as a solo
acoustic guitar and vocal act during the quieter weekdays, then
accompanied by bass and drums performing hard blues with an electric
trio on weekends. Davis commonly plays at clubs, bars, and festivals
throughout the Southeast and mid-south, being out of Charleston, South
Carolina. He has also enjoyed a dozen tours of Europe, promoting his 5
album releases, Cryin the Blues '95, Blues From the Get-go '99, Can't
Get There From Here '06, Ill Disposition '07, & Blues Lights For Yours
And Mine '08.

He has shared a bill or opened for many classic blues artists such as
James Cotton, Junior Wells, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Koko Taylor, Big
Jack Johnson, T-Model Ford, David "Honeyboy" Edwards, Eddie Kirkland,
Earl King, Nappy Brown, and John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. He has
also shared bills with such non-blues performers as Richie Havens,
Mountain, Eric Burdon, Branford Marsalis, Kool & The Gang, Tito Puente
and Toots & The Maytals.

These past two years Davis has played at a clean-up kickoffs in
Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi for Katrina victims, performing
before the Mayor of both Cities and was honored with an achievement
award for his conglomerate MS Coast relief efforts.

=95 10P Old Avenue (rock/pop/acoustic)
Old Avenue has been causing a stir since the summer months when their
performance momentum picked up throughout the triangle area.
Immediately after adding the final member to their current lineup, Old
Avenue performed as the headlining band for STRUT '09 at the
convention center. Shortly after they performed at Duke University in
front of 1,500 students, and at the Midtown Music series at North
Hills with the Embers to a crowd of 10,000. These performances led to
repeat and additional bookings throughout the triangle, and have kept
this eager band busy for months.

With a sound that can only be described as funky, jazzy, infectious
grooves that will make you dance, with melodies that were meant for
sing alongs, Old Avenue is the essence of the upbeat happy tunes we've
all been missing. As a five piece band with a great back story that
links all members back to Cardinal Gibbons High School, each member
will tell you that they feel fate brought them together.

Equally and independently amazing musicians, with talent well beyond
their years, Old Avenue is bound to make waves with the release of
this new album. 'Knockin' on Doors' is a refreshing break from the
emotional angst that our youthful music lovers have been buried in for
years. The upbeat, catchy tunes that pour from the piano keys and sing
through the sound of the saxophone, immediately catch onlookers off
guard. Old Avenue's music projects an "It's ok to smile.it's even ok
to dance" attitude.
