Americans in France (http://www.myspace.com/americansinfrance)
A Sunny Day in Glasgow (http://asunnydayinglasgow.com/)

A Sunny Day in Glasgow are not, in fact, Scottish. They're from Philadelphia. Don't hold that against them.

Americans in France put out one of the great albums of 2009, their debut, Pretzelvania.

The Love Language (http://www.myspace.com/thelovelanguage)
Max Indian (http://www.myspace.com/maxindian)
The Sundowners
The Tomahawks (http://www.myspace.com/jeffcrawfordmusic)
Local 506, Chapel Hill

This is the Drug Horse Holiday Show & if you're not entirely clear on what the Drug Horse Collective is, don't worry, you're not the only one. It seems to involve that Max Indian - Jeff Crawford - Sundowners - Tomahawks axis, but beyond that I don't know. Don't know that it matters, either.

I'm guessing that, like the Trekky Christmas show coming up next Tuesday, this one will be extremely short sets of holiday-themed music, at least judging from the posted timing:

THE SUNDOWNERS 12:40 - 1:10
MAX INDIAN 12:05 - 12:30
RYAN GUSTAFSON 11:40 - 12:00
MOUNT MORIAH 11:20 - 11:35
THE LOVE LANGUAGE 11:00 - 11:15
THE LIGHT PINES 10:45 - 10:50
JEFF CRAWFORD 10:15 - 10:30
JOSH MOORE 9:55 - 10:10
TWEVE THOUSAND ARMIES 9:35 - 9:50
THE TOMAHAWKS 9:15 - 9:30
With Special Guest DJ STEPH RUSS

Friday, December 11

Friday, December 11

The Cave, Chapel Hill

Saturday, December 12

Saturday, December 12
Birds of Avalon (http://www.myspace.com/birdsofavalon)
Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies (http://www.myspace.com/violetvectorandthelovelylovelies)
The Pinhook, Durham

A perfect pairing, actually: at the same time the Birds of Avalon starting diving deeper into the thickets of psychedelia, the sweethearts of Violet Vector and the Lovely Lovelies recorded a second EP with a much harder acid-psych edge to it. They may not meet in the middle just yet, but they've certainly split the difference.

The Trekky Yuletide Orchestra have been hosting this annual holiday show at the Cradle for 4-5 years now, and every year it's the highlight of the season.
