DATELINE Monday July 27, 9pm:

THE DANGERS OF "INDIE ROCK" HAVE BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED, and could be
destroying the lives of your loved ones even as you read this.

We invite you to see for yourself the kind of tormented debauchery
that goes on at one of these "rock and roll" shows -- at the
innocently named "Nightlight" club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Calling on the name of a noble device designed to provide security in
the dark night from Very Scary Things, this "Nightlight" does nothing
of the sort. Instead, they provide a haven for "Indie rock" radicals
and subversives such as those listed below.

Come on July 27 to witness the terror of driving psychedelic
experimental rock along with Indie pop punk that is jarring the
foundation of decent society. Make sure to bring your thorazine.

AURAL APATHY.

See you there!

ONCE & FUTURE KINGS

Raleigh-based Once and Future Kings blend hook-laden, anthemic rock
with a twist of dystopian lyricism. They are often said to sound like
Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, Muse, Cold War Kids (and others), with
nods to 60's rock. Still, there is something distinctly original about
this act that tingles the tip of the tongue.

PISTIL

Overdosed on fun, Durham-based Pistil is the punk-inspired trio of
Megan Dawson, Anne Starling, and Ian the Terrible. They like to call
themselves "indie pop punk" but in practice, you'll hear great rock n
roll informed by both punk and blues. Megan's got a drop dead bluesy
voice and a sweet bass, Anne sports a big, sexy, loud guitar, and Ian
keeps driving unique beats, with occasional singing and acoustic
guitar. Their songs cover heartbreak, love, and politics with a
feminist bent. Pistil has a fresh, unique sound that you're sure to
get hooked on!

With Special Guests from out of town: DOOMSTAR
http://www.myspace.com/doomstarmusic

>From Cambridge, MA, Doomstar! is a three-piece rock band that layers
haunting melodies and vocals over highly syncopated beats to create a
sound that looms like a summer storm cloud. This is a band that sound
like right now without being derivative. You can hear a host of
influences at play but none of then ever pervade the originality of
the song writing. Artists such as David Axelrod and Iron Lung EP-era
Radiohead are the first thing that come to mind but their sound is
much more than that. Imagine a plane somewhere between Thrill Jockey
and late-90’s Mo Wax and you’re starting to get warmer
