=95 8P Mariah Young-Jones (acoustic)
=95 10P Rocket Biscuit (rock/prog/funk)
Rocket Biscuit is a three piece musical adventure into many rocking,
funky and progressive rhythms and riffs. Our intention is to get you
to shake your arse and bop your head. But it's not only about the
music. A Rocket Biscuit show is also meant to be seen. We have all
played in different bands along the east coast. Collaborating together
now, we have brought along the varied experiences and continue to grow
as our ole' school mentality helps us invigorate our new sounds. We
just want to keep that good vibe rocking while the monkey takes the
rule book and disappears out of sight. Come out to a Rocket Biscuit
Show and propel your inner rocket and butter your favorite biscuit
(metaphorically, of course) to better days ahead.

=95 7:30P e-s guthrie (experimental/folk rock)
A songwriter born and raised in the rolling foothills of North
Carolina, e-s guthrie's path has taken some sharp turns to arrive at
where he stands today. A child that dabbled in music without ever
really getting hooked, his formative years were marked by a few years
studying and working in Europe juxtaposed with an eventual degree in
electrical engineering and post-graduate work in both engineering and
philosophy. All of this set an interesting stage for one who
eventually caught the musical 'bug' as a late-bloomer in his mid-
twenties.
The curtains finally came up in the wake of September 11th, 2001
simultaneously as the comfort blanket of his first love was
unraveling. Exposed, alone, and open to seeing the reality of our oft-
unstable world for perhaps the first time in his life, he poured his
heart into learning the guitar and refining his sense of song-
crafting. Chance encounters in these early years with gifted
songwriters such as Ian Thomas, Joshua Pender, Heidi Sidelinker, Alex
Lowry, Sarah Bowman, and Adam Payne only served to further fuel his
fire, and he now counts them all as family and profound influences on
his work.
In 2005 he hooked up with longtime friend and influence Justin
Fedor and started playing shows as 'Fedor and Guthrie'. Together they
cut their teeth on the road performing regionally until they met Josh
Daniel in Charlotte, NC and formed the band 'The New Familiars' in
late 2006. In the years that followed, they tore up the highways of
the east coast logging thousands of miles and playing hundreds of
shows while establishing a reputation for rowdy, feel good
performances. But as time passed, guthrie felt he was moving further
and further away from his center and the reasons why he started
playing music in the first place. In early 2009 e-s announced his
intention to leave the band, wished them his blessings, and walked off
towards the unknown.
Currently guthrie finds himself wide open as he explores the
boundaries of his own potential. He writes songs that speak to his own
loves, failures, hopes, and happiness, yet his work carries the
capacity to resonate with others via their own experiences. So
equipped, he has embraced his new act in this drama known as life,
defiantly staring down fear and uncertainty with his shirt sleeves
rolled up and a smile on his face. And whenever it may be, he looks
forward to meeting you out on the road sometime soon... sharing with
you his world, and in turn learning from your own.
=95 7:30P Chelsea Lynn (acoustic/folk/soul)
Chelsea Lynn LaBate has spent the past four years honing her song-
writing skills on the stages of NYC's Lower East Side and Brooklyn.
Known for her lush "song stories," she paints pictures with her words,
lyrically exploring human suffering, personal triumphs, courage,
solitude and found love.
Her ghostly ballads, combine an unchartable finger picking style
with a warbling voice that captivates and stuns. Inspired by the works
of Suzanne Vega, Billie Holiday, and Nick Drake, Chelsea Lynn has been
prolific in her writing, and has composed and recorded dozens of songs
since picking up the guitar in 2003.
She is freshly back in The States from a successful six country
European tour with Steve Waitt and is recording her new album Food,
Water, Shelter to be released in 2009.
=95 10P Triple Wide (fusion/blues/rock)
Drummer David Daniels invited local bass guru Dale Bryce and guitarist
Steven Stewart over to his house to jam a while back and the three had
a lot of fun. In fact, the boys had so much fun that it became
apparent almost immediately that they should not only get together for
future jam sessions, but that they should form a band and take the fun
they have playing with one another to the stage. Before they even
played a single gig, the word got out that these three musicians were
playing together. Friends and other musicians started dropping by to
jam with the band during their practices. A very open, fun, community
atmosphere emerged and TripleWide continues to embrace this mindset,
frequently inviting their friends to come sit in with the band during
their shows. This spontaneous, energetic, collaborative approach to
making music keeps the musicians and audience on their toes and every
show recreates the fun of the band's initial jam sessions. For
TripleWide, it's all about having a really good time while playing
some REALLY good music.

Sunday June 7
=95 7P Aaron Mills Project - Sunday Night Jazz
Starting at 7, Open Jam at 9
If you are in any way a fan of jazz, this is not to be missed !!!
Aaron Mills, best known as the audacious bassist of classic funk act
Cameo, has inspired a generation of groovy musicians, but his long
time love affair with jazz has inspired The Aaron Mills Project.
Aaron has been playing at the Cafe for a few months now, along with
Wayne Kee, Bobby Hinton, Warren Fraizer and others. Aaron has brought
Sunday night jazz back to the Cafe in a format that includes a cast of
regulars as well as featured guest musicians every week. Towards the
end of the evening, the night becomes an open jam, so, if anyone wants
to come blow their horn....
