Open Mic is arranged to enable anyone to perform, so all you have to
do is turn up early and get your name down to perform. Originals and
cover music of every style and genre are welcome! Open mic is a great
way to practice your art and can also can be a proving ground for new
talent and material. The audience consists of singers, poets,
songwriters and music lovers so the atmosphere should be warm and
encouraging for everybody.

Thurday Jan 15
=95 8P Workbook (light fusion jazz w/ Brad Newell)
=95 10P Sons of Saturn (indie/rock)
=95 11P The New Favorites (rock/powerpop)

Friday Jan 16
=95 8P Aaron Mills/Wayne Kee (blues jam/r&b)
As the audacious bassist of classic funk act Cameo, Aaron Mills has
inspired a generation of groovy musicians-some of whom he now works
with. "Aaron Mills is one bad mutha to have in the studio," says Andre
3000, the mastermind behind hip-hop iconoclasts OutKast. From
continued work with Cameo to sessions with OutKast, Gwen Stefani, and
Cee-Lo, Mills's track record makes Dre's comment seem like an
understatement.

=95 10P The High and Mighties (reggae influenced rock)
The High and Mighties is a reggae influenced rock band from Chapel
Hill, NC composed of players from various groups and ensembles that
have been performing in the southeast for the last decade. They strive
to create an atmosphere where we all celebrate the experience of the
human situation. The inspiration for their material comes from
friends, family and their own bands' history. With the sweet
overshadowing bitter, their music deals with life, relationships and
the pursuit of ever eluding happiness.

Saturday Jan 17
=95 8P Leslie Land & Kurt Melges w/ Special Guest and the Lise Uyanik
Soul/Jazz Ensemble - $8 cover

Sunday Jan 18
=95 4:30P Kids Show: Sandbox, Band for Kids
=95 9P The Autumn Film
Like a post-collegiate Fiona Apple jamming with Snow Patrol, The
Autumn Film serves up a piano-drenched sincerity topped off with a
voice that=92s wise and heartbroken beyond its years. (The Onion)
