hey cats,

the duke coffeehouse is back in action!

this saturday, (10/25) from 11a-5p, WXDU will be having their annual
record fair, with vendors from all over the Southeast. FREE!

then, later that night, Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater (and Okkervil
River), Aimee of Des Ark, and the Tourist are playing for the low low
price of $5 for general admission.

plus, come out for the will-be-absolutely-amazing ZOMBIE PROM on the
hallowed eve (sorry, punny, i know) of 10/30. it'll be free and we'll
be having all sorts of mad activities, giveaways, etc. updates on the
exact activities will be on the website once finalized (which will
probably be tomorrow, really). either way, it'll be a good time,
because dressing up like you're a zombie going to prom... has to be a
blast. pretty much a given. that'll kick off at 9:30p and'll close out
at 2am per usual, and if you want to make the most of our giveaways,
i'd suggest getting there at 9:30p!

and the following Saturday, on 11/1, Jamie Stewart, the mastermind
behind of Xiu Xiu will be hitting the stage of the Duke Coffeehouse as
well, and, sincerely, if you have any suggestions for someone to join
that bill, please let me know at dukecoffeehouse AT gmail.com because I'm
really struggling on that thus far. that show'll be $7 general.

then, the following weekend is the TROIKA FESTIVAL, which will, of
course, be glorious. you can look at www.troikafestival.org for full
details on all of the venues that are participating and the full
schedule.

well, i think that's about it.
like always, the coffeehouse is BYOB, all ages, with doors opening at
9 and the show starting at 9:30 unless otherwise noted.
www.dukecoffeehouse.org for directions and the heads up on upcoming
events.

love,
jen
