Here are some Chicago ideas:
http://chicago.ohmyrockness.com/ offers the best listing of shows.
The Chicago edition of Time Out is also a great publication to pick up
to see what's going on in the city on any given week.
The Reader is the weekly paper.
There are lots of summer festivals in the city and the the Pritzker
Pavilion downtown has free concerts too.
The area near the Double Door has lots of great food choices.
Wrigleyville and Lakeview are also great areas.
Tango Sur is a great Argentinian restuarant and it's near the Music
Box, in case you want to catch a film.
Reckless Records is the best record store- there are a few locations.
The archiveture foundation has lots of amazing archivcture tours

The Art Institute and the Musuem of Contemporary Art are both fabulous.
There's also the Gene Siskel Film Center downtown.
