Beat Congress
We play from 7 pm - 9 pm Friday April 4th out on the terrace of
Capital City Grocery overlooking the Seaboard Station urban renewal
project.
There is food and pastries to eat, wine, exotic beers and sodas, and
some of the best coffee in Raleigh to drink.

the Beat Congress

XOPHER THURSTON
Acoustic Bass
Bass Guitar

>From the avant garde to your own back yard, this classically trained
double bass player has performed solo at the world renown Knitting
Factory and headlined regionally at Raleigh's First Night
celebration. Xopher's versatility enlivens any genre imaginable. A
sensitive and skilled musician, he is the root and guiding force of
the Beat Congress.

JUBAL CREECH
Percussion

With a wealth of performing and teaching experiences ranging from The
John C. Campbell Folk School, Rhytmicity and Paperhand Puppet
Intervention Jubal has emerged as a star in the local music scene. He
is in great demand for his unique style and in-depth knowledge of
drumming traditions of the world. His personal spin on time-honored
rhythms and percussive techniques contribute greatly to the Beat
Congress.

CROWMEAT "BOB"
Saxophone, Guitar

Independent Magazine Arts awarded musician and local music gadfly
Crowmeat "Bob" has been playing so-called music around the United
States in an attempt to separate them and around the Triangle in an
attempt to rhombusize it for a few too many years now. First brought
to Beat Congress's attention by a carnie trying to clean up his
midway, "Bob" left the circus and made himself available to the public
in Raleigh. Like a hillbilly nativity, he "was found in a dumpster
behind a Hooter's in a strip mall outside of DC." Underneath the star
of a Texaco gas station. There were no wise men.
