THURSDAY 21 JUNE @ 7PM
AUDACIA RAY =96 NAKED ON THE INTERNET
Naked on the Internet: Hookups, Downloads, and Cashing In on Internet =20
Sexploation
Few things are more misunderstood and cause more fear and suspicion =20
than the combination of female sexuality and the Internet. Naked on =20
the Internet explores how women use cyberspace, personally and =20
professionally, to learn about themselves, connect with others, and =20
make a living. Author Audacia Ray then goes further, examining the =20
Internet as a valuable =97 though often problematic =97 sexual space. Ray =
=20
combines her insider's knowledge with the voices of a variety of women =20
whose firsthand experiences include camming, chatting, and making =20
websites; dating, hooking up, and forming friendships; sex and =20
relationship blogging; and making porn and doing other forms of sex =20
work. She also examines the power of sexual health and online support =20
communities and the technology
that enables physical sexual encounters. Naked on the Internet is a =20
guide to the ways omen use, experience, and cash in on the Internet, =20
as well as a critical analysis of the empowering and oppressive =20
aspects of women's online experiences.

SATURDAY 23 JUNE @ 7PM
VOYEURISTIC REGIME: Surveillance and Countersurveillance Ethics/Praxis
Join us for a discussion group about the politics of surveillance. We =20
will be discussing how surveillance and countersurviellance works, as =20
well as the various possibilities for the group=92s future. This =20
discussion group is open to everyone.

WEDNESDAY 27 JUNE @ 7PM
HIJAS AMERICANAS by Rosie Molinary
Young Latinas grow up dealing with two, often conflicting, sets of =20
expectations about how they should look, how they should act and how =20
they should dream, points out Molinary, a poet, teacher and =20
first-generation Latina born to Puerto-Rican parents, in this study. =20
Drawing on the responses of more than 500 women who answered an =20
extensive survey, Molinary lays out the most pressing tensions and =20
obstacles for Latinas around issues like body image, religion and =20
sexuality. In chapters titled Turning Gringa and How Latina Are You? =20
she weaves together her own stories with the anecdotes of her survey =20
respondents.

SATURDAY 30 JUNE @ 6PM
FILM FESTIVAL: THE EDUCATION OF SHELBY KNOX
Join us for our first in a series of films that will continue =20
