I just read that she was originally from Durham.
One of the most gruesome stories ever. Even for New Orleans, where
brutal crime is no stranger, it's shocking to everyone. Lots of folks
here recognize them from various bartending jobs etc they held on
Frenchman St. They got written up in the New York Times as part of a
story about people who didn't leave after the levees broke.
