*THIS* WEDNESDAY, OCT 5 - “Dead Men Don't Eat Lunch” @ IBOOKS, 7pm

English-American author, Geoffrey Gilson, will be giving readings from
his book, "Dead Men Don’t Eat Lunch". "Dead Men" is the gripping tale
of Geoffrey’s discovery that the mysterious death of his closest friend,
Margaret Thatcher’s favorite speechwriter, was intimately connected to
the friend being a senior officer of and assassin for MI6, Britain’s
foreign intelligence service. Geoffrey is a natural storyteller and
comic and his animated readings bring to life the high drama – and
sometimes low comedy – of his unique and ongoing adventures. Geoffrey
is currently residing in the Carrboro area, while he puts the finishing
touches to his book, and then sets about getting it published.

*THIS* SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8 - DESERT CITY POETRY SERIES:
BRENT CUNNINGHAM & TESSA JOSEPH, 8pm

On October 8th the Desert City Poetry Series presents the first of two October readings at Ibooks. This Saturday will feature Brent Cunningham, author of 'Bird & Forest', founder of the Poets' Theatre
Jamboree, and Small Press Distribution shaker & mover. We will also welcome Tessa Joseph, editor of the 'Carolina Quarterly', doctoral student at UNC-Chapel Hill, and former student of A. R. Ammons.

Ken Rumble would like me to include that Mr. Cunningham knows how to say "eclipse" in 17 languages including English and Ms. Joseph can wield ostrich feathers with wild abandon. Questions about these anecdotes and anything regarding Desert City can be directed to rumblek AT bellsouth.net. $2 donation requested to support the series & the readers
