Some highlights: We have some great readings coming up (as well as the return of the Desert City Poetry Series), Medea Benjamin will be stopping by the store, the Really Really Free Market is back, some info on Katrina, and tickets are on sale for buses to the rally in Washington.***
THURSDAY, SEPT 15 - HOW TO GET OUT OF IRAQ, 7:30pm
Next Thursday, September 15 at 7:30pm the Community Church of Chapel Hill (106 Purefoy Rd.) will be hosting a forum on how to get out of Iraq. Speakers will include Medea Benjamin, Sarah Shields, and David Portorti.
FRIDAY, SEPT 16 - MEDEA BENJAMIN @ IBOOKS, 5pm
Join anti-war activist, Founder of Code-pink and Co-founder of Global
Exchange in a discussion about the state and future of the anti-war
movement. She will also be signing copies of her book "How to Stop
the Next War Now."
SATURDAY, SEPT 17 - READING: BRENDA COULTAS & MARCUS SLEASE, 8pm
This month we welcome back the Desert City Poetry Series to Internationalist Books. Brenda Coultas and Marcus Slease will read
their poems as part of the Desert City Poetry Series on September 17th at 8pm. Brenda Coultas is the author of A HANDMADE MUSEUM, a collection of poems written about the Bowery flop-houses in New York City. Marcus Slease is originally from Northern Ireland but now lives in Greensboro -- he is the author of RESIDENT ALIEN.
SATURDAY, SEPT 17 - REALLY REALLY FREE MARKET, 1-5pm
The next Really Really Free Market will be September 17th, from 1:00 -

and corporate politics that they perpetuate.

On September 21st at 7pm Internationalist Books will be welcoming our own Bruce Burnside/Finnegan Bell for a reading from his new book "Dear Andrew: An Unsent Letter." Please join us for a special book release

SATURDAY, SEPT 24 - RALLY/MARCH in DC *TICKETS*
Bus tickets are now on sale at Internationalist Books for the September 24th anti-war march and rally in Washington. Buses leave from Internationalist Books at 5:30am on Saturday September 24th. Buses will leave Washington DC to return to Chapel Hill at 4:30pm that same day. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale from $30 to $35 (we are asking for cash or check only please). Please consider giving a little extra if you can which will help defray additional costs as well as help fund scholarship tickets. You might have heard about the Occupied Factory Movement, the directly-democratic neighborhood assembleas and various anti-capitalist social movements that have been creatively responding to the collapse of the Argentinean economy.
