*NEXT* WEDNESDAY, JULY 13 - TODD DILLS & 'THE 2ND HAND' @ INTERNATIONALIST, 7pm

Editor/writer Todd Dills and THE2NDHAND contributor Susannah Felts
travel from Chicago to perform work from the book with Eric Amling,
editor of Raleigh’s Optical Oak and Chapel Hill artist and writer Rafael
Aviles. "All Hands On" features the best of five years of published
writing in THE2NDHAND, Chicago’s broadsheet and online magazine
for new writing. The Chicago Tribune recently called Dills and
THE2NDHAND "the direct center of the underground writing scene in
Chicago." Copies on sale now at Internationalist Books.

*NEXT* FRIDAY, JULY 15 - ANNUAL MEMBER PARTY @ SKYLIGHT, 7pm
Internationalist Books annual member party will be next Friday, July
15th, 7pm at the Skylight/Nightlight on Rosemary Street. All volunteers,
past and present, members, and their guests are invited to attend. Come out and renew your membership, dance, have a PBR, and play some games. You were probably going to do that on a Friday night anyway, so why don't you come do it with us? Come on, it'll be fun.

AND THE 2005 BOB SHELDON AWARD WINNER IS...

This year's Bob Sheldon award is going to Liz Brown- a member of the
school board and activist for the school merger issue. Liz was nominated by Rick Kennedy and will be honored, along with the other awesome nominees, at the member party next Friday night.

*NEXT* TUESDAY, JULY 12 - EAT & SUPPORT THE YOUTH CIRCLE @ ELMO'S

This upcoming Tuesday, July 12th. Elmo's Diner in Durham will be donating 10% of it's sales for the day to the Trinity Court/Pritchard Park Youth Circle!!! It is very much needed for the youth to have a great Summer. The youth wrote the letter requesting Elmo's to have the fundraiser, and are working really hard to go on an "end of the year" field trip. (There will be a Car Wash this Saturday at Caribou Coffee on the corner of Estes and Franklin in Chapel Hill) The money raised will also go to college visits and much needed snacks and supplies for our workshops! Is there a cost for the event?
No -- and food is provided. All you gotta do is show up and be your amazing self!

When does it start?
Registration will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm on Friday. The retreat will kick off at 3:00 pm on Friday, and will end at 4:00 pm on Saturday.

What are we going to be doing?
Having lots of fun!

Friday's Events: Registration, Opening & Games, Workshop I, Dinner, ART!, Ice Cream Party, Movies, Midnight Scavenger Hunt
Saturday Events: Breakfast, Workshop II, Workshop III, Lunch, More ART!, Games, Closing

Who is coming?
A whole lot of incredible people! Youth from all over the Triangle and the state of North Carolina are coming to the retreat. The retreat to open to all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questionning and straight allied youth, ages 14-19. College-age students will be coming as retreat volunteers.

Where is the retreat? And where am I going to sleep?
We'll all be camped out at the Duke Center for LGBTQ Life. Think of it as an indoor camping trip. Or a huge slumber party.
Directions to the Center will be mailed out in a confirmation e-mail closer to the date of the retreat.
