- Subject: Work in RTP? Electronics Recycle Day May 4
- Date: Mon, 02 May 2005 00:50:20 GMT
Hello. The Environment@RTP organization is holding an Electronics Recycle
Day for Park employees. May 4, 7am-6pm. (Rain date May 11) in the parking
lot of the OLD EPA Bldg (the Fortress) at 54 and Alexander Drive.
Bring in your old computers, monitors, TVs under 27", stereos, etc. Also,
mercury containing thermometers and thermostats. Get rid of that junk in
your house in an environmentally safe way.
Go to their website first: http://www.environmentrtp.org/NewsEvents.html
You must fill in the registration form.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE-- Environment@RTP is working with the Kramden
Institute, a Durham Non-Profit that refurbishes computers for needy kids.
If you have computers with processors faster than 300MHz (they dont have to
work but must contain all parts) and working monitors 15" or 17" (sorry, no
Macintosh items please) you can bring it by the same place on May 4 and
Kramden will be taking donations for the kids. The added bonus is that you
can get a tax writeoff form for these donations.
So come on by next Wednesday!
