Chthonic Art Productions inaugurates its operations with three phenomenal
shows – pop-punk band Transition from Pittsburgh on Sunday, July 11th (10
pm, $4) at Skylight Exchange and power-ska band The Flamingos from
Connecticut on Tuesday, July 13th (10 pm, no cover) at Joe & Jo's in Durham
and joining local funk/hip-hop band Mon Ami at Local 506 (10:30 pm, $5) on
Wednesday, July 14th.

Transition's high-energy, high-volume rock and roll has taken them to the
top of the Pittsburgh music scene where their single "Shoelace" was the #1
requested local song on radio station WXDX. They have also received
national attention through their involvement with the 2004 Warped Tour as
well as their purevolume promotional website which has received 50,000
visitors, more than any other unsigned band. Their music has power and
passion combined with the catchiness of Green Day, the Ramones, and other
punk-sounding bands that have had mainstream success. Transition is touring
with another pop-punk band called Hit the Lights from Lima, Ohio. Local
solo artists Agent Starchild, Tyler Hipnosis, and the Rookie will warm up
the mic for the two bands.

With an 8-piece ska band, The Flamingos will rock the socks off downtown
Durham next Tuesday and then Local 506 in Chapel Hill on Wednesday. Joe and
Jo's, the hippest neighborhood bar in town, will be the smallest venue the
Flamingos have played in a long time. Accustomed to playing places like CB'
s Lounge (formerly CBGB's) in New York City and opening for nationally
famous acts like the Toasters, The Flamingos will certainly give the crowds
at both venues a concert they will remember the rest of the summer.

Chthonic Art Productions is very honored to promote these two talented acts
and looks forward to bringing more talent this way. Upcoming July shows
include indie-rock band Vostok from Florida at Joe and Jo's on Tuesday, July
20th and pop-punk band Richard Cory from upstate New York at Joe and Jo's on
Thursday, July 22nd.

A record-label and promotion company run by musicians for musicians,
Chthonic Art Productions commits itself to providing hard-working,
user-friendly, and open-armed services to all struggling musicians who have
talent that deserves recognition and taking an aggressive approach to
getting the attention of those with the power to make or break musical
careers. Any questions about the shows advertised or Chthonic Art
Productions itself can be directed to Morgan Guyton at 919-698-2267 or
chthonic-arts AT mutualaid.org.
