Yes, thanks for the update. Very helpful! And an exciting discussion it seems. My two cents, if I may - and please disagree or agree or add more on this list if you wish: The whatsapp group suggestion is a good one, although I had considered it in the past and didn’t go ahead because I (then) felt that whatsapp was not used widely enough (yet) by affiliates in Africa … and while used extensivley in some countries it is not used so much in others - for whatever reasons. Some network members - especially the tekkies among us - also did not like that whastapp did not encrypt their messaging but this was recently “fixed” I believe. So I hope that a sufficient number of affilates in Africa signs up to the group and actively monitors this (I will sign up now) - otherwise we may wish to look into alternatives such as telegram or even something like slack or an open alternative. I admit, I am a fan of the (actually pretty flexible) MoUs for various reasons (including creating some form of formalisation of the relationship and a shared understanding of expectations and responsibilities) but the roadmap system is broken imo. Nothing wrong though with creating an annual plan but certainly not through the current roadmap system (hence our first attempt this year to replace the roadmap with a simplified survey that focusses more on the really important stuff). Was there any discussion of what the alternatives would be? Any other comments from anybody on this list to the points raised during the discussions in Washington DC? Looking forward to more updates.
