Africa. Tobias Schonwetter is the Legal Project Lead for CC ZA.
Tobias teaches Copyright Law at the University of Cape Town and is involved
with a number of copyright law-related projects, including Access 2 Knowledge.
He is currently working on versioning the South African licenses from 2.5 to
3.0. Tobias is based in Cape Town, South Africa. Nigeria: ng.creativecommons.org Ayo Kusamotu: Ayo is the Legal Project Lead for CC
Nigeria. Ayo is a partner at the law firm of Kusamotu &
Kusamotu. Ayo is involved in a number of organizations focusing on
technology law. He is currently working on the new Creative Commons
Nigeria website and preparing for BarCamp Nigeria. Ayo is based in Lagos,
Nigeria. Enyinna Nwauche: Enyinna is a team member of CC Nigeria.
Enyinna is a former Director General of the Nigerian Copyright
Commission. He currently serves as Director of the Centre for African
Legal Studies at Rivers State University. He is based in Port Harcourt,
Nigeria. Kyura Nyam: Kyura is a team member of CC Nigeria. Kyura is
an Intellectual Property attorney who previously worked with the Nigerian
Copyright Commission. She is currently completing her LLM in IP at the
University of Jos. Kyura splits her time between Jos and Abuja, Nigeria. Tanzania Paul Kihwelo: Paul is the Legal Project Lead for CC
Tanzania. Paul is a part of the Faculty of Law at Tanzania Open
University and involved with Open Educational Resources projects in
Tanzania. He is currently working on building awareness of CC licenses in
Tanzania. Paul is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Uganda Paul Asiimwe: Paul is heading the CC project in Uganda and is
likely to be its Legal Project Lead. Paul is an attorney at Sipi Law
Associates and is a member of a number of Intellectual Property
organizations. He is currently working on building a CC Uganda project
team. Paul is based in Kampala, Uganda. Dick Kawooya: Dick is part of the CC project in Uganda.
Dick was an International Policy Fellow at the Open Society Institute in
Budapest, Hungry. He is currently working on his PhD in Information
Sciences. Dick is currently based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he
lectures at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Kenya Joseph Kihanya Ndugu: Kihanya is heading the CC project in Kenya
and is likely to be its Public Project Lead. Kihanya is the
Communications Legal Expert for the National Communications Secretariat and is
involved with a number of media and communications law organizations. He
is currently organizing the new CC Kenya team. Kihanya is based in
Nairobi, Kenya. David S. Majanja: David is working with the CC project in Kenya
and is likely to be its Legal Project Lead. David is a partner at Majanja
Luseno & Company Advocates and also lectures at the Kenya School of
Law. He is currently working with the other Kenyan team members to start
the CC Kenya project. David is based in Nairobi, Kenya. William Maema: William is working with the CC project in Kenya
and is likely to be the contact for the project’s affiliate institution.
William is a partner at Iseme, Kamau & Maema Advocates and is a member of a
number of copyright, trademark and patent organizations. He is currently working
with the other Kenyan team members to start the CC Kenya project. William
is based in Nairobi, Kenya. Ory Okolloh: Ory is not part of the CC Kenya team but has been
following CC since its inception and is interested in staying up to date with
CC activities in Africa. She is Executive Director of Ushahidi and
involved in a large number of tech and development organizations and
projects. Ory is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ghana Dorothy K. Gordon: Dorothy is heading the CC project in
Ghana. Dorothy is Director General of the Kofi Anan Centre of Excellence
in ICT and is involved with a number of international development
organizations. She is currently working to start a CC project in
Ghana. Dorothy is based in Accra, Ghana. Zambia Shalala Oliver Sepiso: Shalala is heading the CC project in
Zambia. Shalala is part of AfriConnect Zambia and a volunteer at Rescue
Mission Zambia, where he previously served as Executive Director. He is
currently working to build a CC Zambia team. Shalala is based in Lusaka,
Zambia. Brenda Zulu: Brenda is working with the CC Project in
Zambia. Brenda is a journalist who focuses on information and
communications technologies (ICT). She is currently working with the rest
of the Zambian team to start a CC Zambia project. Brenda travels widely but
considers Lusaka, Zambia her base. Susan Mwape: Susan is working with the CC Project in
Zambia. Susan is a freelance journalist. She is working with the
rest of the Zambian team to start a CC Zambia project. Susan travels
widely for her journalism. Madagascar Joan Razafimaharo: Joan has been working with CC for a number of
years. She is an editor for the Malagasy Global Voices project and has
worked with a number of different communities in Madagascar. Creative Commons Headquarters (CC HQ) Diane Peters: Diane is General Counsel for Creative
Commons. She oversees all legal aspects of CC’s work and the
international projects. Diane is based in Portland, Oregon. Michelle Thorne: Michelle is the International Project Manager
for Creative Commons. She coordinates the international projects and
works closely with the Jurisdiction Teams. Michelle is based in Berlin,
Germany. Aurelia J. Schultz: Aurelia is the Africa Project Assistant at
Creative Commons. She works closely with the Jurisdiction Teams in
sub-Saharan Africa. Aurelia is based in San Francisco, California. Allison Domicone: Allison is the Development Coordinator at
Creative Commons. Her work includes the new small grant program for
jurisdiction teams. Allison is based in San Francisco, California. Donatella Della Ratta: Donatella is the Arab World Media and
Development Manager. Her area of focus includes North Africa. She
works closely with the established Jurisdiction Teams in Egypt and
Tunisia. Donatella splits her time between Rome and the Arab World. Timothy Vollmer: Tvol is Creative Commons’ Open Policy
Fellow. He works on policy issues with the US government. Tvol is
