The Recording Industry Association of NZ and PPNZ Music Publishing
have merged into a new limited liability company, Recorded Music NZ
Limited:

If we are going to start seriously campaigning for CC use among
musicians, it may be worth making formal contact with the new
organisation, and reassure them that our goal is to rebalance
copyright (to paraphrase Lessig), not undermine it. For example, if
every person making music in Aotearoa adopted the most restrictive CC
license (CC-NC-ND), pretty much nothing would change. Except that the
industry could stop wasting resources on the lost cause of trying to
prevent people freely sharing music they like with their friends (as
they've done since the beginning of recorded music) just as they
mostly seem to have given up on DRM crippleware.
