People following Creative Commons in NZ may be interested in a discussion
that touched on CC licensing in relation to use of images from Wikipedia by
NZ Herald

It seems to me that CCANZ needs to try to educate news media in particular,
and seek protection for creators using CC.

It's disturbing that the Press Council has supported newspapers in lifting
other peoples works from places like Facebook:
"However, Facebook is not a private space but a public sphere and the Press
Council has cause, yet again, to remind users that despite the best intents
of individuals, it is not easy not always possible to protect privacy or
enforce copyright issues."

This is a cop out. Most of these media organisations are staunch defenders of
their own copyright, except when the shoe is on the other foot:
