Kia ora koutou

Brian, thanks for this. Do you know who was responsible for following
up the naming issue with Te Taura Whiri, and where they are at with
this?

My assumptions is that these kinds of relationships and projects that
were being handled by the Council will be handled in future by the
proposed CC ANZ board/ steering group. This transition will be
smoother if all of the work in progress is documented, including
things have had drifted onto the backburner, so the board can follow
them up once it is in place.

With all due respect to organisations that have made the effort to
formalise a name in Te Reo Maori, this alone is a token effort. In my
opinion a commitment to moving beyond monocultural development
requires more of us. In this context, consulting widely with Tāngata
Whenua and their organisations, especially those who have experience
with community and project development frameworks, can only be
beneficial. Keeping that in mind I will follow up the contact Emily
has offered.

Ngā mihi nui
Danyl
