Yeah, I'm with you on that one. I have run into this angle before (on the puredata discussion list, actually), but I don't think it's important; or rather, I think Creative Commons is an important stepping stone towards truly free culture. Rather than entrenching the Producer/Consumer split I think CC takes a step towards a world of multiple different kinds of artist-audience relations.

in which he brings up an interesting point:
"Since people tend to treat Creative Commons as a unit, disregarding the details like which one of their licenses is being used, it is not feasible to support just part of Creative Commons--so I can't support it at all now."
