Not exactly. The advertising clause sepcifically refers to advertising, see <http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/bsd.html>.
But it's very similiar.
Current wisdom is that BY is less obnoxious than original BSD. It's on a par with listing co-authors, which is basically what it requires.
Well, maybe it'S only less obnoxious for practical reasons. Images and music often don't have too many authors/contributors.
But when it comes to game development, CC-BY2.0 is at least as obnoxious as original BSD. The big difference: BSD was about advertising only while BY kicks in everywhere where authors are mentioned.
