Hello,

Works under CC licenses are already protected by applicable law.
According to moral rights, authors can object against modifications which
would be prejudicial to their honor or reputation.

The idea to add conditions on derivative licenses is interesting and
enhances compatibility with national legislations having stronger moral
prerogatives; it is indeed legally difficult to authorize in advance any
modification, without giving up right to respect and integrity.

Melanie

Objet : Restrictions on derivative works based on content?

Hi,

I have a question regarding the
Creative Commons License.

Suppose I create a cartoon character
that is suitable for young children.
I want to give people the freedom to
copy, modify, prepare derivative works
using this character.

Now since this character is targeted
for young children, I certainly
wouldn't want somebody to take this
character, put it in a tasteless porno
flash animation, thus demoralizing my
character.

Does the Creative Commons License have
any restrictions on the nature of
derivative works? or there is no limit
on what can be done with derivative
works? Would it be bad idea to have
a "No Adult-Oriented Derivative"
license?

Any help is useful.
