Hi everyone,

Tim and I are discussing a potential submission by Creative Commons to the database consultation. In connection with this, we have an audience with some of the staffers to inform them about how CC licenses handle SGDR. Their immediate interest is how CC licenses work in the database context. But we are also looking at submitting a formal statement to answer some of the questions they pose in the consultation.

Questions to this group:

* are any of you involved with database providers who have real experience with how the directive has impacted them, favorably or unfavorably? If so, can you share stories?

* might there database providers with whom you have contacts  be willing to discuss the consultation with us?

We have no wish to overstep the bounds of what we can credibly back up. Tim reports that Communia is considering weighing in as well. We will definitely coordinate there.

Thanks for your help with providing feedback.

Diane
