Hi Alek,

Good luck with all the preparation and thanks for the work on it. Here are some thoughts;

Format:

*Setting up the panels with good practices always useful to me and to the point.

*Gatherings, small group discussions, social events always good.

Content:

*Having the topics or practices in different fields would be useful such as in art, science, business- separately.

*Research data is the latest challenge in science and academia these days, EU grants, H2020 etc. Something relates science, big data, research data management and CC both legally and in practice would be useful.

*Concrete, good and current examples of using CC licenses in startups and evidence of economic benefits would attract the attention.

All the best,

Ilkay

Hi Alex,

I agree very much with both Teresa's points and would also like to add that it would be great to identify concrete themes that are given emphasis in the program (for both presentations and workshops). Personally, for instance, I think the open business model theme would be worth following up on and expanding as it taps into lots of global discussions right now (also outside CC circles). Open hardware business models in particular.

Hi Alek,

1. Hands-on session, workshops is type of event that works best for me, in the sense of feeling involved, learning, and building relationships. But it's also very useful to have presentations, and in that context what I prefer is the type of presentations that showcase interesting affiliates projects in more detail (to learn and maybe replicate) or case studies (for instance the CC Europe session that Paul Stacey gave on business models, where he analyzed different case studies, was really insightful). Finally, an Intl School of Rocking Copyright could also be interesting.

2. Idem and the night events (good food, nice music, some drinks and dancing - what else do you need to feel happy and connected!) were the most interesting part of the previous Summits that I've attended. The Summit in Buenos Aires, where they didn't plan much in terms of night events, felt like something was missing (although we found nice alternatives in the end).

Looking fwd to meet you all again!

Dear all,

as you probably saw, Jane Park shared on the affiliates list several documents about the next CC Summit, asking for feedback. But we know that some of you might not have time to study them, so I thought that it might be easier for you to answer two simple questions. Several of us from Europe are on the planning committee (Lisette, Andre, Alexandros … did I miss anyone?) so we’ll include your ideas in the planning

here are the two simple questions, we’d appreciate it if you send some thoughts either today or on Monday. They can be really quick, short thoughts, any input is appreciated!

1. What would be useful for you, if you participated at the Summit? What kind of events, what would you like to learn or experience so that the experience would be meaningful to you?

2. If you participated before, what element was for you most interesting / useful?

All the best,

Alek
