Greetings CC Affiliates:

UNESCO is organizing a Central Asian Conference on “Leveraging ICT to Achieve Education 2030” that will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 2-4 November 2016. Invitations have been sent to the ministers of education of five Central Asian countries and Russia.

UNESCO is going to launch Open Educational Resources (OER) activities for Central Asian countries during the conference.

UNESCO has asked if Creative Commons would like to join and speak at the conference re: how CC licensing is an integral part of OER … and how OER can support the Education 2030 goals in SDG4: https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdg4 (my recent talk on this topic).

It will be ideal if a female CC Affiliate can attend, as a majority of the confirmed experts/speakers are male, though all are welcome to inquire. UNESCO will cover your travel costs. Talks can be given in English and/or Russian.

Please contact Fengchun Miao if you are available and interested to join the conference: f.miao AT unesco.org

Gratefully,

Cable
