Hi everyone,
Just to inform you that the hostels were selected taking into account the proximity to the venue, the reviews, and a very small budget (35-40 euros per person). Of course there are better options if you have more resources. I'm happy to provide my opinion on any other accommodation that you might choose - just email me.
I'm also happy to share a Google map with my personal tips (food, drinks and other) for Lisbon. This is a private map, so I won't make it publicly available - just email me and I'll give you permission.
Since Lisbon has become a very desirable city among tourists, I recommend that you take care of the bookings asap.
Looking forward to welcoming you in Lisbon,
Teresa
I encourage a session on the CRM Directive and national implementation status and strategies. I would be very happy to help prep that session (even if I am not at the meeting) in collaboration with others who have also been working on this, including Thomas and Paul. Important to discuss would be current status of national implementations, ongoing and future engagements with collecting societies, and overall strategy so that we ensure the CC NC licenses are able to be used by society members. We might also discuss the status of existing pilots and whether/how to terminate those once national implementations come online.A few documents of relevance:
- Our tracking document with status by country;
- An example of an engagement strategy developed with CC UK.
And finally, to a point John W. raised earlier this year, it would be good to have short write ups from those countries where pilots have been allowed to introduce CC and NC to societies. Learnings are always good to document, and may be of possible use in developing strategies.DianeDiane M. Hello!
Mark your agenda's:
the CC Europe meeting will take place in Lisbon, on Friday September 30th (noon) until October 2 (afternoon) - so you can start plan your travel.
I will list upcoming practical information in this doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dVKOXfbK_u3qM7CWpUHf34tZJ0Fxmb9E0l3KvyLaIkk/edit#The fabulous Teresa Nobre has already added some hotel and hostel suggestions to this doc.
A dedicated programming committee (Lisette, Fatima, André, Ignasi, Teresa, Thomas, Kamil, Klaudia, Mikhail, Prodromos, Maarten and me) are now making a programme proposal which we will finalise next week. You can count on the following topics being talked about/worked on:
EU Copyright Reform: general strategy, one session about E&L, one about TDM, education, open science, collective management directive, commons+public domain
Business models
Certificates
OER/CC in Classroom /CC in academic environment (learning + research + open science) ...
Capacity building / volunteer /welcoming package (usb!), outreach, fundraising
Tech tools and infrastructure: fabrication licensing, 3D, CC in hardware - how to mark content, visible rights, metatag for licenses/rights statements ...
Strategy
Freeblock (proposals from participants) translations, CC0, national case studies
Of course, if you have any other suggestions, please send it to me so that we can discuss and give it a spot.
At this point I am still finalizing the budget, so I cannot make the commitment that I will be able to reimburse all of you for 100%, but I will do my best to give as much financial support as possible. More on that hopefully in the next week as well.
Enjoy your holidays!
BestGwen
