Hello,
last week, 300 people attended a meeting on Open Science organised by the Dutch presidency. For those of you have attended meetings like this, there were not too many surprises (lots of old white men in panels, mainly :D) - but they have released a statement on Open Science, meant as a 'call for action' , mainly directed at the member states.
You can read the full text here:
Remarkably, the Call to action 'draft' was actually already a more or less finished document and has been already distributed amongst the national ministries, but after some pushback from delegates the organisation decided to make it open for commenting after all - although it seems like the only way we can comment is through the comments section - there's no way to officially submit a response.
As CC, Timothy Vollmer and myself would like to comment on a couple of elements - if any of you want to chip in, feel free to do so.
We've created a google doc where you can drop comments https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vDsQhgygHS_cctuP2dQOfIbT-LPyBQfgres5VQ3G39s/edit
Unfortunately, the deadline is rather tight - this Thursday.
All the best,
Gwen
