CREATIVE COMMONS LICENSING SEMINAR – A PERSPECTIVE FROM COPYRIGHT AND PATENT LAW
IP Australia is hosting a seminar featuring John Wilbanks, Vice President of USA based organisation Creative Commons and Professor Brian Fitzgerald, Professor of Intellectual Property and Innovation at QUT. The expert speakers will discuss how Creative Commons (CC) copyright and patent licenses work with reference to case studies.
These presentations will outline, from both a copyright and patent perspective, how CC licenses work. They will also discuss a new model of patent licensing that allows patent holders to make portions of their patent portfolios available to the broader community while still retaining the defensive benefits of patents.
