This worked once but otherwise still plays things too fast online.
A simpler solution would be to use another computer to play online wav and mp3 files.
Today all the sound programs are playing things at the proper speed.
I had been warm rebooting from pulp linux (after failing at getting
sound to work in it) which must have somehow affected sound in BL2.
mpg123 is working fine today online, as are play and mplayer offline
for playing wav and mp3 and ogg, and timidity.
