I found a discussion of shell scripts for converting downloaded youtube videos to flv and mpg with ffmpeg (which I will try to compile) and viewing with mplayer. Python, perl, zsh, bash scripts.


ffmpeg (for Slackware 9 and 10) and FFmpeg (for 11 and 12) are at linuxpackages.net. A long list of dependencies which I think Slackware 11 or linuxpackages.net have.

Steven, can you get this working or are you uninterested since you still use dialup internet?
