- Subject: [BL] Seeing start-up messages
- Date: Mon, 01 Feb 2010 12:41:09 +0100
Hello,
I'm new to the group having installed Basic Linux just yesterday on an old -
make that *very* old (17 years) - laptop.
The machine is very basic too having no network connection and only a floppy
disk for software transfer purposes.
I bought it in a second hand shop for a couple of euro and have unfortunately
had to scrap about half the hard disk capacity
due to bad sectors :-(.
But the good news is, BL3 works on it albeit without the GUI but who cares...
I wanted to learn the linux command line stuff.
One question to begin with though: Is it possible in some way to halt the
avalanche of start -up messages so that
I can see what's going on before they dissappear from the (black & white ;-))
screen?
Thanks,
Dick Summerfield,
Eindhoven,
The Netherlands.
