I have compiled version 2.7 of linux-wlan-ng driver prism2_usb and p80211
which it needs, for kernel 2.4.31, using gcc 3.4.6 (SW11).
Used by USB wireless B card MN-510 and probably related models.
The instructions for use (once I install the two modules and the USB modules) seem to be totally beyond the abilities of BL. See
http://www.fuw.edu.pl/~pliszka/hints/prism2.html
chkconfig --add wlan
chkconfig wlan on
We do not have chkconfig - any good substitute?
edit /etc/wlan/wlan.cfg
add to /etc/modules.cfg
alias wlan prism2_usb
We have neither of these files.
create /etc/sysconfig/network_scripts/ifcfg-wlan0
(long file which can say to get IP address with dhcp)
ifup wlan0
We do not have ifup
There is something about WEP128
Various fixes for kernel problems
The man and doc pages are beyond my comprehension. ridlist,
manipulating MIB values. All I want is to use this card like
a pcmcia wireless card to connect to the library network.
Has anyone used a US wireless card successfully with BL?
At least there IS a linux driver for the card, unlike a PCI Wireless G that requires ndiswrapper.
